Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council Searching for Executive Director/CEO

     Genesee Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council (GFLRPC) is seeking an Executive Director /CEO to provide leadership, oversight and direction for all operational functions of the Agency. This position reports to the GFL Executive Committee and 17 member full Regional Council which represents a 9 County region including the city of Rochester. The Director is responsible for providing assistance and professional recommendations on fiscal matters, ie. operating budgets, policy considerations, strategic/long range planning, local and regional economic development, community development initiatives and legislative issues and activities. 

      Grant applications and management /compliance with state and federal guidelines /mandates is an essential feature of the Director’s performance. In addition to maintaining federal certification for grants and program funding, the Director provides leadership and consultation to government agencies, the business community and private, non- profit organizations in the region.  

      Experience and skill in dealing with the media and the public at large to explain and enlighten same on complex issues and regional priorities (see attached full job posting). 

      The salary range is $90-110,000, annually depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full time, exempt position. There is a full level of fringe benefits including health care, NYS Pension, 457 Deferred Compensation plan optional participation, generous leave credits and an open, friendly work environment with a commitment to ongoing professional development. The office is located in downtown Rochester and there is opportunity for remote work as needed. A staff of 5 + full time planners and related accounting /fiscal management contractors drive and support the daily agency function, strategic planning and future goal orientation of this 44+ year old organization.
