Finger Lakes Features: Karen Springmeier and Mike Davis Receive NYATEP Recognition

Karen Springmeier, Executive Director of the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, Inc. and Mike Davis, Business Manager of the IBEW 840 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers were presented statewide leadership awards at the recent “Partners for Workforce Transformation Conference” held at the Hyatt Regency in Rochester, NY. This annual conference is a partnership between the New York Association of Employment and Training Professionals (NYATEP) and the New York State Economic Development Council (NYEDC).

Ms. Springmeier was awarded the Statewide Leadership Award for her forty years of leadership at both the state and local level as well as her tireless advocacy for the state workforce system. Ms. Springmeier has also served on the NYATEP Board for 25 years.

Mr. Davis, representing the IBEW 840, was awarded the Business Leadership award. He was nominated by Mike Manikowski, Director of the Ontario County IDA and Ms. Springmeier. In addition to his leadership with the IBEW, Davis serves as Chairman of the IDA and as a member of the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board.
