FAME – Increasing Prosperity in the Finger Lakes Through Manufacturing Networks

Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturing Enterprise (FAME) began in 2006 with the Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board Inc., in partnership among area manufacturers to fill the need for skilled workers.  Primary goals are to increase skill development and prosperity in the Finger Lakes region through manufacturing networks including mentoring youth on the attractions of manufacturing employment and helping them prepare for successful careers.

FAME works closely with educational partners like Finger Lakes Community College, Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES and local high-schools to develop programs designed to provide the technical skills that advanced manufacturers need in today’s ever evolving high-technology global markets. These initiatives give students early exposure and awareness to career pathways in advanced manufacturing.  Company tours are coordinated with regional career-awareness events designed to educate students on the opportunities that exist right here in the Finger Lakes. Join the innovative and exciting FAME organization and share your thoughts and ideas at organized forums and events in continued networking with other companies, educational providers and industry leaders while providing work based learning solutions for its members.
