Why Finger Lakes Works? 

Finger Lakes Works is the nexus of business and industry connections and partnerships including the Department of Labor, economic development offices, training providers and a multitude of resources, services and supports to strengthen workforce and economic development in the four-county local area of Wayne, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties.

As such, we offer to develop a social media campaign of your business to share with this local network of connections including our local community following.

Consistently, the weeklong campaign drives four weeks of social media activity that we collect and put into a report to share with you.

What is the intended outcome?

Drive local applications and potential new hires. Feedback from local hiring managers tells us that commercial recruitment platforms drive applications that are electronically matched and not necessarily “real person” initiated; leading to low hiring opportunities.

FL Hires campaign sends an interested individual directly to your choice of connection (not a platform “form”) increasing application traffic of interested individuals.

Here’s the program:

Finger Lakes Hires promotes a hiring Finger Lakes business each day for one week via various medias.

Purpose:

  • Promote specific business job opening/career pathways
  • Tells company’s compelling story
  • Promotes Finger Lakes WIB Mission, Vision and Efforts

Criteria:

  • Company has immediate hiring needs
  • Company partners with FLWIB; provides job openings, business history and images/videos
  • Company agrees to provide 4-week outcome results

Process

Company MUST provide completed Employer Profile form Monday, the week prior to scheduled promotional week

Schedule:

Monday – Press release announcing Finger Lakes Hires business of the week. Includes company history and current employment opportunities. Job postings shared on fingerlakesworks.com and social media platforms.

Tuesday – Highlight an available position. Include career pathway company benefits. Ie: This position is projected to grow faster than average (employment increase of 5% or more) over the period 2019-2029 for the US nationwide-Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Wednesday – Get to know a supervisor/mentor. Intro to an employee; years working; how did they start; educational/training background; why do they like working for xxx…picture of employee.

Thursday – Highlight Industry outlook and company’s positioning.

Friday – Highlight other positions and application/interview process. Message from Company President/CEO/Administrator.
