The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board (FLWIB), Inc. announced today that Prospero Equipment Corporation is December’s “Business of the Month”, recognizing the business’s contributions to the community and to the local economy.
With an office in Geneva, New York, Prospero Equipment Corporation is one of the leading service providers for beverage equipment in North America. They provide service and technical support to all small, medium, and large scale wineries and beverage companies. & it’s associated company’s offer many cutting edge solutions and customization of all wine, beer and beverage needs. Some of the solutions provided include: mobile bottling trailers, existing winery growth, custom crush facilities and much more. Starting out in 1972 when Mr. Tony Prospero began distributing small home winemaking equipment out of Pleasantville, NY, the company has grown with offices in California and here in Geneva. In 2012 the Geneva office was restructured and a new warehouse was built to better supply our customers with the parts and the technical support they needed.

Managing this kind of growth requires a highly skilled workforce. To find and train their workers Prospero has worked closely with Finger Lakes Works Business Services team to post jobs with the New York State Job Bank enabling the company to tap into a large pool of talent. To assist w/ training the company has used the On the Job Training program designed to help employers build a strong workforce while providing the employee with the skills need to be successful on the job.
