August 2015 Business of the Month is…

Select Fabricators of Canandaigua!!

The Finger Lakes Workforce Investment Board, Inc. (FLWIB) announced today that, Select Fabricators, Inc. is August’s “Business of the Month” recognizing the company’s efforts to build strong community partnerships along with their continuing contributions to the local economy.

Located in Canandaigua, New York, Select Fabricators manufactures a full line of high performing Select-A-Shield™ RF / EMI shielding enclosures, pouches and mobile forensics products in the USA. With expertise in textiles, flexible materials, industrial sewing, sealing, ultrasonic welding Select Fabricators delivers a wide array of flexible packaging solutions to customers’ specifications, including cleanroom bags and services, industrial covers, tarps and barrier bags as well as contract product assembly and fulfillment for aerospace, precision packaging, military, security, and industrial customers.

Finding and training a productive workforce is key to Select Fabricator’s success. Over the years they partnered with Finger Lakes Works to assist with recruitment and training accessing programs like the New York State Department of Labor’s job bank and the On the Job Training program.  They have also been the recipients of regional grants that have been used to train their workforce. “Finger Lakes Works has provided us with an excellent source of talented workers” says Gary Winch, Chief Operating Officer.  “It’s been a win-win!”
